NFL Gamecock Roundup: Gamecocks swap jerseys, DiMarco gets mic'd up

-This past Monday night featured a spirited contest between Alshon Jeffery and his Chicago Bears against Melvin Ingram and the San Diego Chargers. The Bears won on the scoreboard, 22-19, but both Jeffery and Ingram played some of their best football all season. Jeffery had 10 catches for 151 yards, while Ingram had five solo tackles, including a sack and two QB hits. After the game, the two former Gamecocks took a cue from the world of soccer and traded jerseys.

-Atlanta Falcons fullback Patty DiMarco had the pleasure of being Mic'd Up for the game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and let me tell you, it is a treat. Keep an eye out for his interactions with other former Gamecocks, which includes tackling Bruce Ellington on a return! has an article up discussing the potential impact Jasper Brinkley could have for the New York Giants, as they make a push for the playoffs. Brinkley has been mostly quiet on the stat sheet since joining New York after getting cut by the Dallas Cowboys, but he had a spirited game this past Sunday. Brinkley had a team-leading seven tackles, while forcing and recovering a fumble. "I had a chance to knock the rust off last week," Brinkley said, "and take it a step forward this week. That's my position. I've played it my whole life. I know what comes with the territory."

-Rokevious Watkins is hitting the turf once again, this time in the Arena Football League. Watkins has been assigned to the Arizona Rattlers, and despite never having played in the Arena League, the good news is there isn't much difference in blocking compared to the NFL. Good luck to Rock!
