NFL Gamecock Roundup: Succop the lone bright spot for Titans on Thursday

-The Thursday Night Football matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars was an absolute barn-burner, as we all expected. Only two offensive touchdowns were scored the whole game, and the only passing touchdown came late in the fourth quarter, so y'know, there was real drama. The drama may have even gotten to Ryan Succop, who went 2 of 3 on field goals for the second week in a row.

-Speaking of Ryan Succop, he recently took part in an event hosted by the Titans and TeamSmile, a non-profit organization that partners with sports teams around the country to provide dental care to kids from low-income families. Succop was on hand to hang with the 350-plus kids who came out, as the professionals on-hand performed approximately $85,000 worth of dental care for free.

-Stephon Gilmore did not hide his confidence when asked about the Buffalo Bills' gameplan against the New England Patriots this Sunday, particularly against Rob Gronkowski. "We got a game plan to take him out of the game," Gilmore said on Tuesday. "We're gonna be ready for him."

Being ready for him, not surprisingly, has less to do with attacking Gronkowski than it does his quarterback, Tom Brady. Gilmore and the Bills defense were watching the Giants have some success this past Sunday night and took careful notes. "They [were] getting to Tom Brady, getting him off his spot," Gilmore said of the Giants' gameplan. "They [were] sacking him and they are playing tight coverage on the back end. So first of all, you have to get to him to make him mess up."

-Minnesota Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn recently sat down with the Pioneer Press and discussed his growth into the Vikings-Packers rivalry, which he used to be on the other side of.

"When I was growing up, I was a Green Bay fan and Brett Favre was my favorite player," said Munnerlyn, whose Vikings face the Packers on Sunday. "Him being from Mississippi and me being from Alabama, I was a big-time Brett Favre fan."

Still, Munnerlyn didn't completely grasp how huge the Vikings-Packers rivalry was until he became a Viking himself. Now with no Farve there for Cap to cheer on, there's no holding back.

"It's like South Carolina-Clemson, Alabama-Auburn," said Munnerlyn. "It feels like a college rivalry. It's definitely a big-time rivalry, and I'm glad to be part of it."
