Indianapolis Colts 24, Atlanta Falcons 21
Patty D! No question, this was the best game of Patrick DiMarco's career thus far, even if it was a loss. The undrafted hoss from Altamonte Springs, Florida, caught three passes for 21 yards and two, yes two, touchdowns. Prior to yesterday, DiMarco hadn't had a catch since week four of last season. It's always nice to see the guys doing the dirty work getting rewarded once in a while.
Oakland Raiders 13, Detroit Lions 18
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 45, Philadelphia Eagles 17
New York Jets 17, Houston Texans 24
The magic number was two for the Gamecocks in this one. Jadeveon Clowney and Johnathan Joseph both had two tackles, and Joseph had two pass deflections as well. In non-two-related stats, Clowney also split a sack and had a pass deflection of his own.
Denver Broncos 17, Chicago Bears 15
Alshon Jeffery's status as "questionable" turned into an "out," and the Bears' top wide receiver missed another game in an injury-plagued season. Darian Stewart gave a great effort in honor of his fellow alum, with a tackle and two pass deflections on the day.
Washington Redskins 16, Carolina Panthers 44
Well, Cam Newton had a great day throwing the ball, which means it was a pretty terrible day for the Redskins secondary, which means it was unbearable for cornerback Chris Culliver. Cully did make five tackles, though, so hopefully he got out some of that frustration.
Dallas Cowboys 24, Miami Dolphins 14
St. Louis Rams 13, Baltimore Ravens 16
Jared Cook had a good, high-volume game after a couple one- and two-catch games. Cook had four total catches for 31 yards, with a 16-yard gain being his longest of the day.
Kansas City Chiefs 33, San Diego Chargers 3
Hoo boy. Melvin Ingram might want to forget the end result of the game, but he had a very nice individual performance. Ingram was second on the team in tackles with six, including one for a loss. Again, though, this is really something he's probably going to want to forget.
Green Bay Packers 30, Minnesota Vikings 13
For a member of the secondary, Captain Munnerlyn was wreaking some serious havoc in the backfield. In addition to three tackles, Munnerlyn had both a QB hit and a sack! Can't blame his defensive effort for this loss.
San Francisco 49ers 13, Seattle Seahawks 29
Aw, no Active Roster Dylan Thompson appearance in this one, and lord knows they could've used his cannon arm in this one. Bruce Ellington stayed busy, though, with four kick returns for 96 yards, a punt return for six yards, and two pass targets (no catches though.) Hey, at least they tried to throw it to him!
Cincinnati Bengals 31, Arizona Cardinals 34
Buffalo Bills 13, New England Patriots 20
Earlier this week, Stephon Gilmore talked up his plan to stop Rob Gronkowski and the Patriots aerial assault. While the defense ultimately failed to completely stop Tom Brady and his arm, Gilmore put in a great effort, nabbing the Bills' lone interception of the night.
